Symposium Odd little L.A. obscurity I almost passed on for $3 thinking it was an educational record! Turned out to be political concept jazz and a collaboration between college kid quartet Selah, vocalist Hill and a group of school kids. First two vocal cuts are awful but Selah's "Shadow Do", "The Corner" & "Celestial Infinity" are excellent semi-am spiritual & funky jazz pieces. "In Old L.A." with kiddie chorus is great too. A very rare album released in minimal numbers on producer's own Peppered Snowfall label. |
