Exploring the Unknown

The Voices of Walter Schumann

Remarkable journey circa 1955 through the unknown regions of space with EZ song-smith Walter Schumann and his oohing and aahing vocal group. A Rip Van Ronkle "space poem" read by Paul Frees is featured throughout.

Brilliant album conceived back when popular thinking about outer space was a little more innocent and optimistic. Their "Arrival at Venus (New Sensations)" (click for MP3 excerpt) track at the end of side 1 is one of my all-time favorite musical creations from the Space Age.

This is an amazing album and unlike a lot of others, was somehow recently released in CD format from RCA Spain and can be found without too much effort at an affordable price.

Highly recommended !
