The Game of Life

Jarrell McCracken

Literally the record that got the mighty Waco, Texas WORD label going. Jarrell McCracken, a local sportscaster, inspired by an article "The Great Game of Life" and his love for sports, wrote and recorded this analogy back in 1951. It was an instant hit that led to the development of WORD Records the following Spring (where he would go on to be President).

In this recording, broadcasting from the Great Stadium of Life, you'll hear an imaginary play-by-play description of the "greatest and most important of all grid iron classics", the Game of Life. A full length football game between the forces of Good and Evil with Jesus Christ and Satan coaching the two teams.

Fascinating and bizarre vintage religious document. My highest recommendation! Scroll down for a peek at the liner notes and click here for a sound sample....
